I provide a range of climbing and mountaineering guiding and instruction throughout the Winter season as outlined below. I aim to tailor instruction to what you require and fits in with your schedule as opposed to offering fixed courses.

If you have aspirations to climb that Cold Climbs classic, to learn the skills to look after yourself in the Winter mountain environment or maybe explore somewhere a little less travelled then please get in touch to discuss the best options for you.

I am based in Scotland from January to March so will have a good idea of conditions and weather to enable you to maximise your time in Scotland.

Scottish Winter GuidingIMG_2909

For those who have a particular classic ice or mixed route they would like to climb or maybe with a desire to explore somewhere a bit more remote. With so many classic ice and mixed winter routes throughout Scotland a day, or more, of private guiding can help you achieve those long held dreams and ambitions.

Winter Ice & Mixed Climbing

Learn the skills to give you the confidence to climb on Scotland’s many snow, ice or mixed routes. Also for those who are wanting to consolidate their skills to push into the higher graded routes in Scotland.

Winter Mountaineering Skills

The Scottish hills are transformed into a snowy landscape which at times can be both beautiful and harsh in the same day. Knowledge of how to use crampons and an ice axe, being able to navigate in poor visibility and having an understanding of the weather and avalanche conditions are all essential skills that need to be learnt to have great, memorable and safe days in the Scottish mountains. Over a few days or more these skills can be taught to give you the confidence to head out into the mountains under your own steam.

Feel free to get in contact to discuss what is suitable for you.
